Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our hospice team in Milledgeville. In this flexible role, you will provide direct patient care, assist with admissions, and support symptom management for hospice patients across various care settings. This position is ideal for nurses who are passionate about end-of-life care and looking for meaningful part-time work with a team that values quality, dignity, and empathy.
Work Schedule
Status: Part-Time
Shifts: Flexible weekday and/or weekend availability
Hours: Typically 16–24 hours/week
On-Call: Preferred but not required
Core Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including head-to-toe exams and home evaluations
Provide skilled clinical care such as symptom management, medication administration, wound care, and crisis intervention
Deliver death visits and provide compassionate end-of-life support to patients and families
Educate caregivers on disease progression, medications, and hospice principles
Care Coordination & Planning
Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary team
Collaborate with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and aides to ensure holistic care delivery
Adjust care plans based on ongoing assessments and changing patient needs
Assist in admissions by completing evaluations and initiating hospice services
Documentation & Compliance
Submit timely and accurate documentation in compliance with Medicare, state, and agency standards
Maintain clear communication and follow-up with team members and families
Participate in IDG meetings and case conferences as needed
Team Collaboration & Supervision
Supervise and evaluate care provided by Hospice Aides and LPNs in accordance with agency policy
Provide input during team case reviews and help maintain high standards of care delivery
Attend staff development training and contribute to a culture of learning and quality
Qualifications
Active RN license in the state of Georgia (no restrictions)
At least 1 year of nursing experience; hospice or home health preferred
Excellent clinical judgment, time management, and communication skills
Reliable transportation with current driver’s license and vehicle insurance
Comfortable with electronic documentation and remote communication tools
Compassionate, calm under pressure, and patient-centered in care delivery
