Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Home Care Agency – Various Patient Homes
Employment Type: PRN (As Needed)
Position Summary:
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) looking for a flexible role in home healthcare? As a Float Pool RN, you will provide supervisory visits and quality assurance assessments for clients receiving personal care assistance. You will ensure that client records are compliant with state regulations while supporting continuity of care. This position requires travel to patient homes.
Responsibilities:
- Be flexible and available to travel to different locations within the agency’s designated service areas, depending on patient needs and staffing shortages.
- Travel to client homes across the designated service region, ensuring coverage in high-need areas.
- Develop and revise care plans as necessary, ensuring updates are communicated to staff.
- Supervise Personal Care Support (PCS) personnel, with LPNs assisting as needed.
- Conduct supervisory assessments, including observations of PCS caregivers and LPNs.
- Monitor and supervise the care of patients receiving homecare services to ensure compliance with care plans.
- Conduct supervisory assessments, including direct observation of Personal Care Support (PCS) personnel delivering care.
- Complete monthly supervisory assessments to maintain compliance with state and agency requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records in compliance with state regulations.
- Ensure strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Make informed decisions based on established agency policies and procedures.
- Work independently with minimal assistance from the Clinical Manager.
- Adhere to the Float Pool shift commitment, signing up for a minimum of one shift per week and being available for last-minute coverage needs when possible.
- Ensure strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Make informed decisions based on established agency policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse Practice Act for all nursing services.
Float Pool Participation Requirements:
- Commit to signing up for at least one shift per week via the shared Float Pool calendar.
- Agree to the cancellation policy, requiring notification by 8:00 AM if the shift is not needed.
- Utilize the Float Pool scheduling platform for shift selection and tracking.
Compensation:
- $40 per hour (Float Pool RN Rate).
Qualifications:
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Georgia.
- Current BLS Certification Required.
- Must provide Negative TB Results within 30 days of hire.
- Experience with medically fragile patients preferred.
- Home health experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of home management, skilled nursing, and personal support services are a plus.
- Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate care delivery effectively.
- Working knowledge of Rules and Regulations for Private Home Care Providers (Chapter 290-5-54) preferred.
- Familiarity with ICWP, CCSP, SOURCE, and GAPP program policies and procedures preferred.
